Based at the University of Strathclyde, The Centre for Digital Library Research (CDLR) was set up as a joint initiative by the Information Resources Directorate and the Department of Computer and Information Sciences and aims to work across both departments and other areas of the University. Key aims are to "combine theory with practice in innovative ways" and be a centre of research excellence in the area of distributed digital information and learning environments. (see research themes, and projects)

CDLR began full operations in early 2000.

The Centre is also home to BUBL, SLAINTE, CAIRNS, SCONE, the Glasgow Digital Library, SAPIENS, and other services.

Enquiries or comments should be directed to the appropriate group member, or to cdlr@strath.ac.uk.
